My 8-year-old explained to me how he had used a fulcrum and lever (his words!) to move this giant snowball. The broken board in the foreground was their first attempt. It’s always a thrill to see what he has learned creeping out in unexpected moments. We don’t have exams or tests, so for me, this is one of those proof of concept moments: This homeschool dream is really working!

The state of the household: we have gone through the whole giant basket of handkerchiefs this week, and now I am digging through the laundry to get hankies for today. Also, I need to order more rose hips and elderberries for tea before the next cold descends. Everyone is on the mend now, just been a long week. 🤧 (love bird hankie is one I made for Jim using the @purlsoho pattern years ago. And the black hankie with flowers is a cloth napkin that Jim used to gift wrap a book that was a birthday gift to me before we were dating. 🥰 oh look, I am getting nostalgic over handkerchiefs...And Eli is still waiting for me to bring him a hankie... 🤣)
